SEPTUAGENARLANS" WEDDING, Mrs. Sarah Bras, aged 10 of the Ellis David Almshouses, a soldier's widow, was married at Croydon Parish Church recently to Robert Edwin Harding, aged 74, an ex-farrier sergeant of the Hussars. Throughout the war he served at Redhill Remount Depot, and was demobilized last week: Owing to infirmity neither bride nor bridegroom knelt during the service.
IMMODEST DRESS
The Modern dress is a bar to "matrimony for women, is the opinion of Rev. F. B Moyer, world famous evangelist. "Mor girls think that men can be won by the flesh. But men are too sensible. They are not going to marry girls who go about half naked." says Dr. Meyer. "Man may flirt with a girl who goes to extremes in these fashions, but he will not mary her."
DINNER TO FOREIGN ORIENTALISTS.

HORSEFLESH FOR BELGIUM.
at
A strike of an unustal character occurred in Goole Docks recently. Before the war large numbers of old borses were sent for food purposes to Belgium. On the resumption of trade with Antwerp there has been a big demand for horseflesh. The an- imals are now killed in England, quartered, and then frozen before being exported. The Goole steamer Hodder was to receive a quantity of this meat but the labourers ra- fused to bandle it. Later another gang of dockers was approached, and offered a bonus of 5s. per man if they would put the cargo on board, but they also refused.
