The Times says there are now 15,000 people awaiting passages to the East, these mostly being business men and wives and families of man in the East.

Practically the only available accoinmodation is any which may fall vacant at the last moment.

It is believed that the shortage of accommodation for civilians

will last another six weeks or two months.
