THE ITALIAN COUP AT FIUME.
3
Rome, Sept. It In the Chamber, Signor Nitti stated the latest nows was that the situation created in Finme by the coup-domain wia sericus, because 2,300 men entered the town without any right to do so. He was determined to set so as to avoid grave conflicts. He deplored what had happened be Oase for the first time sedition, even for idealistic amps, had entered the Italian Army.
Signor Nitti strongly denounced the adventurous enter- prise and repadinted the reports that the Govemment ea- couraged it. The Government had taken every measure to prevent the raid and would not tolerate it. He deplored the military sympathy and stated that steps had been taken to organise the Army Command with a view to cradi eating the weakness. The Premier pointed out the danger through Italy failing to carry out her engagements with » the Allies, dwelt on the humiliation of the sincere apologien. he would be compelled to offer, and particularly referred to -the betrayal of the interests of the fatherland.by imperilling. indispensable credits from the Allies. He announced that ao inquiry would be opened in Rome as soon as possible to investigate the, civil and military responsibility Soldiers who failed to report within five days after summoning would be prosecuted under the military penal code.
է .
Signor Nitti mentioned that D'Annunzio's grenadiars ... started at night and proceeded in forty motor cars to Fiume, whence the battalion awaited them on the armistice line. The Commander of the Eighth Army Corps sent the com- manders of the detachments to which the raiders belonged, with the object of persuading the misguided men to return. D'Annunzio announced his intention to install himself at the office of the Army Command at Fiume.
London. Sept. 14
The latest news from Fiume shows that a number of inhabitants joined the raiders, also some Italian sailors who swam ashore. The raiders pulled down the Franco- British flags and the Franco-British troops were confined in barracks. Precise details are hitherto lacking.
Paris, Sept. 15.
The Supreme Council has met, consisting of M. Polk. M. Lloyd George, Signor Tittoni and Marshal Foch. It is presumed that Fiume was discussed.
DISSATISFIED.
Paris, Sep 14
The Rumanian Minister learns from Bakharest (Sept. « 13) that M. Bratiane Las resigned. M. Bratiano explained that his action was due to the belief that Rumania's in- terests were endangered through the Allies' request to re linquish undivided possession of Banat and share it with " the Magyars and Serbs. It is stated that M. Bratiano's e- cessor will be better enabled to submit a conciliatory formula to the Alles safeguarding Rumania's interests as be will not be pledged like M. Bratiano regarding the fatore of Banat

London, Sept. 14.
Beuter's correspondent at Belgrade confirms the news that the Serbian Cabinet has resigned because it failed to obtain suppression or modification of the clauses of the Austrian Peace Treaty dealing with protection of minorities in the territories ceded to Serbia, which it declares infringe Ser- bian sovereignty. The Government retain power during the crisis.
-BOLSHEVIKS MARCHING ON OMSK.
Stockholm, Sept. 15. Yewspaper reports state that the Bolsheviks have exp- tured Tobolsk and are "marching on 'Omsk
It is reported from Helsingfors that the authorities at Archangel discovered a Bolshevik plot aiming at the sur- render of the town by armed revolt. Seven leaders were sentenced to death and five to penal servitude.
andon, Sept. 15.
It is authoritatively stated that the report that the Bolsheviks are marching on Omsk is not true. It is true that the Bolsheviks in this sector are advancing, but further south Koltchat has broken the Bolshevik front in three places, so if the Bolsheviks persist in their advance they ran a grave risk of being cut off.

THE MARINE MOTOR WITH POWER TO SPARE
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This motor is a four cycle, four cylinder L head type motor. In general appearance it is compact and clean cut, yet there has been incorporated the greatest degree of accessibity for such adjustments as daily service requires. Careful design and manufacture under the most rigid system of inspection and final test ensures a motor of extreme refinements, that is quiet, smooth running and powerful with the added and very important feature of economy of operation. The large valves, free intake and exhaust passages and carefully balanced and light weight "reciprocating parts make this motor unusually powerful at the slow speeds as well as the higher speeds up to 1400 RPM. There is no unpleasent vibration at the high speeds..
In order that this motor shall stand up and have endurance under severe conditions, there have beeà provided liberal pro- portions of such feature as bearing area, water jacket volume and connecting rod & crank shaft strength. Lubrication is direct and positive. The use of accurately graduated, helical timing gears and entirely enclosed and lubricated push rods, valve springs. etc.. make one of unusual silence in operation. 4 MODELS IN STOCK-14 TO 40 HORSE POWER-
