I am instructed by this Government to bring to your notice the conduct of the Master of the British Screw Steamer "Darpedon" Official No. 63312. On that vessel's last arrival here from London, the Cook was charged by the Master for insubordination and using threatening language and was committed to Gaol for twelve weeks at Captain's order, or until the Vessel returned to Hong Kong from Shanghai.
