The subsidiary silver coinage referred to in the last paragraph of Sir A. Kennedy's despatch forwarded by the Peninsular and Oriental Company's Massilia steamer on the 30th July last, and consisted of the following coins, viz:

Preferred a copy of your despatch 1988: of the 26th June to the Commissioners for any observations they might have to make. I transmit to you a copy of their reply.

It will be better for the Colony than discounting them here.

You will learn that a supply of nearly £200 worth of silver was sent out in equal proportions of 20, 10 and 5 cent pieces.

If a further supply is required, it will be desirable that you should telegraph.
