44-POUR WEEK AT BOURNVILLE.
The firm of Cadbury Bros, Lid., Bournville, who employ about 6,000 parsons, have established works conncils für tha men and women employees. The "directors have recently agreed to the recommendation of the coun- cils to reduce the work in the factory from 48 hours to 44 hours. Three alternatives had been put before the workpeople, who de cided upon one free Saturday in every four, with an adjustment of hours, which will make an average, spread over each period of four weeks, of 44 hours per week.
NATIONALISATION OF LAND,
Speaking at the adjourned di- cussion on the acquisition and valuation of land for public purposes at the Surveyors Justi- ration, Mr. Leslie Scott, M.P., said land hunger was one of the factors of industrial unrest, and was at the back of the ery for the nationalisation of the land.
