EXPIRY OF AMERICAN CHARTERS.

The Persia-maru, which had been chartered by the American Shipping Board during the war, returned to Yokohama on February 26th. The steamer had been plying between Manila. New Caledonia, Honolulu, Chile, France and New York and sailed under American charter. 36,994 miles altogether. The Minister of Communications has presented silver cups to the crew in recognition of their services.
