COMMERCIAL NEWS
STEEL IN GREAT BRITAIN. The production of steel in Great Britain în 1917 was 9,704,049 tous against 10,000 tons estimated. Compared with 1918 there is an increase of 600,000 tons. The pro- duction of pig iron was 9,490,254 tans, an increase of 372,000 tons as compared with 1916. The com parison with the pre-war output shows a gain of 1,000,000 tons.
NEW WOOLLEN FACTORY. The Manchuria-MongoliaWool- lea Manufacturing Co., Ltd., has been established with a capital of Y.10,000,000, to which the Japa- nese Government is to contribute an annual grant of Y,150,000 for four years. The new company is to found a woollen yarn factory
