The importation into the Common- wealth of Australia of tea, qther than that grown or produced in British Posses- sions is prohibied, unless the content in writing of the Commonwealth Minister for Trade and Customs has been first obtained.
Information ban' been received from the Director General of Ports and Telegraphs Tokio, that on and after lei April 1918, the Post Office of Japan will collect a demurrage charge from the addresses of parcels on which Customs duties or inland taxes are imposed in |Japın, not withdrawn. from the Post Office within 20 days from the date of the notice of their arrival to be sent to the addramees.
The Director General of Posts and Telegraphs, todia, advises that: "The Parcel Port Service to the Indian Oivil Possal Agoucier at Abul Khasik, Amara, Bagdad, Busts, Barra City. Fao. Kut, Naseriyah, Qulat Saleh, Suk-och-Shayukh and Zabair in Mesopotamiz is suspended and that piece-goode, haberdashery and simBar articles, except those intended for the personal use of the addresses and not for sale, cannot be sent to those offices or to Abadaa, Ahwaz or Mohm. mecah by the latter bost, and that such articles if receivad will not be delivered and will be liable to cónfscation."
