A civil suit for the recovery of about P20,000 has been filed in the court of first instance of Manila by J. R. Read and others against the Malagno Pisaer com- pany.. The action was broughtinto court on Aug. 29 by certain pro minent business houses of the city and ex-employee of the placer company. Among the houseE were the Atlantic, Gulf and Pacifio company" which alleges that it has delivered about) 2771.62 worth of wares and goods; the Fleming Percy Smith and Seth company for the recovery of goods valued at P920; and E. A. Heise for the recovery also of P1.700 worth of goods. Long list of individuals to which the placer company is alleged to be indebted beesuse of services actually rendered and money loaned includes the company's physician, a Chinese blacksmith, William Kene, Q. 8. L:ckbart and Wong Lim.
