“Adjacent-sea” Charterage. Qu to out of-proportion with the ruling freights, the adjacent- sea' charterage has been ascend- ing wildly end has now attained Y26 per toa deadweight. We prey ously attributed this flight partly to the general anticipation of the brisk movement of oargo in home waters next April, However the transportation of neither. Hokkaido lumber nor Kyushu conl is at all brisk at present. and signs indicate that these lines of, tad will Webb: perceptibly in the course of next April and May. The shipment of bean cake from Dairen is now maintained fairly actively, but uper the next turn of the month the export is likely to slacken to) a degree, as is the case each year, Under these circumstances, the

charterage adjacent sea

is expected to go down next month to Y10-23 per ton deadweight.—
