The Infantry sprang a great surprise on the Ganners in this match, defeating them by 1 goal to oil. Play opened in favour of the Gunners, but their forwards appeared to take things too easily and in coner quence they were well held by the opposing defence. Scrofton and Sayers got going st the other end, but the latter put outside. The Gaunere again sook ep the running, sad Green was given a good chance from a well-placed pass by Darberdash, but failed with him shot, Hali. time: No score.
The second half was all in favour of the B. G. A., the other -side only breaking away ocassion- ally. It was a battle between the Gunners forwards and the Middlesex defence, the latter working very hard and to good purpose.
