The authorities at Cambridge University propose to confer the degree of Master of Arta honoria Causa on Mr. Thomas J.. Underdown, President of the National Union of Teachers, Mr. Alfred Flavell, Headmaster of the Yardley-road Babool, Birming ham, and Mr. George M.E Hamilton, formerly Tresenter of the National Union of Teachers. It is also proposed to grant an annual pension of 875 for 15 years to Mrs.Hartley, widow of. the late Mr. W. E. Hartley, M.A Trinity, First Assistant Observer at the University Observatory, who lost his life on July 9 in H.M.S, Vanguard, after having. served for 18 months as NETSİ instructor,
