Mr. E. D. Morel's Nationality.

Woman' Smoker's Death,

"At an inquent at Southwark on Eilen Bizter, 28, who died sud- denly, the husband esid his wife was a bosry cigarette smöker. She smoked a packet every night. He did not know what abe smok- ed during the day when he was at work, but she smoked three packets on Sunday. She was very alarmed at the air raid on Souday, and said she was certain the raids would be the death of ber. Dr. Elwyn, who made a post-mortem examination," "naid the valves of the woman's heart were diesssed. He could not say for certain, but the excessive smoking was a possible explans- tion of the dilation of the heart. Death was due to syncope. The jury returned a verdict of "Denth from natural causer."

Labour M. P. Mobbed. Mr. Thomas Richardson, the Labour M. P. for Whitehaven, arrived in the borough recently intending to bold an open-air meeting in the Market Place, but when he and his agent appeared they had a very rough reception. They were peled with mad, and there were cries of "Pat him in the dock!" This was followed by a rash for Mr. Richardson, who was roughly handled, bat eventually escaped to the house of Mr. J., Henlon, the local miners' agent. Hon. Francis Patrick' Clements, Stoker.

The will has been proved of the Hon. Francis Patrick Cloments, of Eggeslord Horse, Devon, who died on or aince May 21, 1907, at some place unknown, intestate, a bachelor without father, a son of the fourth Earl of Leitrim. Ha was not possessed of real estate and the satate is valded at £20,- 098. His mother, the Counteja. of Leitrim, has renounced simia- istration of the estate, which has accordingly been granted to bia brother, the present Earl of Leitrim, of 60s Cadogan Square, W. The Hon.
