Scholarships And Special Training.

Proposals for the employment ef juvenilos after the war are. given in the report, issued by the Ministry of Labour, of a con- ference recently beld Estween the Louder (Central) Advisory Com- mittee on Javealle Employment, the. London Local Advisory Con mittees for Juvenile Emplos- ment, other Javenile Employment Committees, and certain educa- tion Committeer.

Discussion arose regarding the, necessity for approscbing em ployers with a view to inducing them (s) to Borily discharges of juveniles in advance, (b) to notify all vacancies to Juvenile Es ployment Committens during the period of demobilisatior, and (c) to consider and formulate chemes of apprenticeship and training. The conference felt that, for the beat fit of childred, parents, and employers, some ar rangement should be made which would prevent the children from wandering from one employer to another in search of work. The conference agreed that it was highly desirable that centres for unemployed boys and giris should, he provided during the de mobilisation period.

It was decided to suggest to the R construction Committee that the War Office be asked to nemobilize teachers immediately apon the conclusion of pera", and in connection with the provision of these centres, the question of the granting of continuation scholarships and maintenanca, grante se raised.
