We have been able to gather a little further information con cerning the unfortunate circum- stanos which is delaying the hold- ing of the Oxford Preliminary examination, upon which we com- mented in this column on Thurs- day. The precaution appears to have been taken to send out duplicate sets of papers, and, whilst the first batch has been unfortunately lost, it is hoped that the second parcel will soon arrive. The examination was fired to begin on Monday last, and the trouble now is to get into i touch with the candidates, owing to the occurrenos of the summer holdsya.
