Roquefort Cheese Secret Dis- covered.

After eight years' investigation the Department of Agriculture at Washington early last month an- nounced it has discovered the secret of making Roquefort obeere. Instead of limestone caves in which French Roquefort is ripened, department experti are using ordinary refrigeratora, and the expensive goat's milk aped in the French process is substituted with cow's milk. Foreign Tea.

The ban on foreign, se distinot from Indian and Ceylon, tes will ecarcely affect any country except China, remarks an Exchange. Most of the Java crop goes to Holland, and though of late yeara Formosa tes has attained some reputation in England, its con- aomption is very limited. Our Ally, Japan, growa a great qus0~ tity of leaf, bat nearly the whole of its export is sent to America, where they have acquired a taste! for a beverage even lighter than China tee. At the present time it is worth noting that in the Far Esat tea is never mixed with milk or sugar. By the connais- sear that would be regarded as mare barbariem.
