SERIOUS FOOD SITUATION IN GERMANY,
Amsterdam, March 28.
In the Reichstag, Dr. Batorki armitted that the harvest had been over-estimated. Pig stocks were insufficient and therefore many more cattle must be slaughtered. An in- crease in agricultural products was impossible owing to shortage of labour and transport difficulties. He urged all to recognise the seriousness of the situation.

The Admiralty announces that the arrivals of the past week totalli 2,314 vessels and the milinge 2,433. There were aunk eighteen vessels over 1,000 tons, including the bospital ship Asturias, and seven under 1,000 taas. Thirteen vessels were unsuccessfully attacked. Ten fianing craft were eunk of which nine were sailing vessels.
