It is re- ported that the Group Banks have expressed their disapproval of the proposed sppropriation of the proceeds.

At the Asacciation of Political Economy, Dr. Soyeda stated:-- The friendly relations between China and Japan could not be attained by mera verbal talk and ́ the two Powers should arrange measures to have intimate rals- tions economically, and Japan

should develop her industries by ading the natural resources of China. The autonomy of raw materiale and industries in the foundation of the_general sitom- tion of the Far East, etc. Mr. Hioki, the er-Japanese, Minister to Peking, also. stated to the meeting that it is important to make Chine anderstand Japan's position clearly and to avoid any attitude which will make Chinera feel offended and it is also nec- essary to cultivate the feeling of co-operation to promote the matesl interests of the two Powers, etc.
