· maglen, joined the King'e Own Royal Lancaster Regiment in 1897, served in the South African War (mentioned in despatches, D.S.O, Queen'e medal with five claspe), and in the present war he has been mentioned twice in despatches, and for some time commanded a brigade with the temporary rank of brigader..

The New Commonwealth Difices.
