Japan Coal Prices.
The demand for coal is now heavier than ever, in consequence. of general industrial activity and increasing orders from abroad. The winter season and the Aus tralian coal strike also contribute! to this tendency. Thus the price of ecal in Japon at present is double that of last year, and good coal ie quoted. at Yokohama at Y.13 per ton.

30 -The Lord Mayor of Liverpool will pre- Lent on Friday, at 2:20, ■ sword of honour to Midshipman (vOW Sab-lieutenant, G. L. Drewry, R.N.R the first cfficer of the Royal Naval Reserve and the merchant service to win the Vio- toria Cross, The presentation will take place in the Town Hall. Lieut. Drewry is a member of the Imperial Merchant Service Guild, and the Lord Mayor is making the presentation on behalf of the Guild. The general public will be admitted to the interesting ceremony.
