In diecamion at Lambeth Borough Council on the question of the employment by the council of men of military age, Dr. Mackeith, a member, read the following letter from General Sir William Robertson, Chief of the General Staff-
"I have no hesitation in saying that there is urgent necessity for more men of military age for His Majesty's Forces. We are now engaged in the greatest war over known, and are fighting for an object vital to our Imperial ex- istence and to the cause of humanity and civilisation.
"There is no doubt whatever of our

It was pointed out-that there were only two men still in the council's employ fit for general service. The council has givan to the forces between 150 and 170 men slready.
