At the Liberal party meeting, Mr. Asquith ssid there had been a carefully-engineered campaign against Visavant-Grey and himself, but he acquitted Mr. Lloyd George or any member of the Government from complicity therein. He received Mr. L'ord George's proposal for a smaller War Conscil on the let inst. and replied the same day stating that the Premier must preside over such a body, Mr. Ligyri George did not agree, and on the 3rd inst. the Unionist Ministars inimated that unless he (Mr. Asquith) resigned, they would reiiga Heappealed to Mr. Bɔasr Law to remaia, and on the 4th, inst.
