Great change, are looming in the near foreground, and I hope the working men of this country. will not be forgetful of the fict |that the high wagen enjoyed by many of them, are being paid on: of borrowed money which will have to be returned some day. I [is all very well to aim at standard wages, and to fix that standard at a time when wages are abnormally higb, but it is merely an idos, s pisasant ides, naturally enough perhaps in the circumstanoss, bot it is one which will, I am pure, be carefully regarded, by the great majority of working men who patriotically weigh the cir- camatances and conditions.

We also hear a good deal about. the estslishment of a minimumi wage-very good indeed, but wo must all of or make the combized effort, and it is encumbent upon all the classes in the country 10 assist that effort to give the employers of labour protection against the eno mu possible dumping of German and Austrian uwented goods in this country.
