Since our last report, dated the 20th October, our market has remained active, and a good basiness has been done. Sugars have once again been the chief interest, and the price has farther strengthened. Investment stocks continue in demand,

In the North the Cotton market has rajed very strong, Shanghai Cottons having advanced twelve pointsduring the week, hat closing easier with buyers at Tis. 122). Forward business has been done up to Tis, 128 for December. Eros have also advanced to a baying quotation of Tie. 165, whilet Kangyike have found buyers at Tis, 18) and Yangterspoos at Tls. 61. In ngkate close weaker with bayers at Tls, 24.

Robbers still remain doll in the North, whilst the Singapore market is firm. We give the latest oabled quotations from the latter port: -Pajem 201; Fandycrofts $480; Ayer Panas #11: Tapshe $211; Kompas $8.70; Indragiris $19 and Ayer Moleks 42.55, Straits Currency. Pientation rabber is quoted 2/61.

Subscriptions are invited by the Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corporation to the Hongkong Government Bix per cent. War Loan of $3,000,000, proceeds of which will be handed over to the Imperial Government as a war contribution from the Colony of Hongkong.
