For every 15s. 6d. lent now £l will be paid in 5 years' time. equivalent to 5 per cent. compound interest. No Income Tax will be payable.
Anyone, whatever his or her income may be, can buy War Savings Certificates up to a maximum of 500 £1 Certificates in all, or their equivalent.
Meanwhile the money may be withdrawn in full at any time, with an addition after the first year.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
(1) A Certificate entitles the purchaser to receive £1 for each 15. 6d. on the fifth Enniverary of the date of purchase, free of income tax in respect of the accumulated Interest,
(2) A Cortificate is not transferable except by permission of the Postmaater General; a fee of 14, will be charged in respect of each transferee. In the event of death, the samé rulos will be applied as in the case of Savings Bank Deposits.
