24th March 1871, when he reported that the Architects agreed to certain conditions laid down in his own report and the work was allowed to proceed. From that time until the 30th May of this year the Executive received no reports on the Theatre, which is by this time completed, and application is made that performances may be held in the summer.

6. This application is forwarded to the Junior General that he report as to the fitness of the building for occupation as a Theatre, and he reports for the first time that the revised plans called for at his suggestion had never been furnished, and that the Architects had failed to comply with the condition to which he had stated they had agreed.

7. As, however, Mr. Moorsom failed to show that the Proprietor or his Architects had been made aware of the conditions to which he referred, and as he did not report that the building was in his opinion unsafe, and further, as on enquiry from Colonial Secretary, that the building was in the eyes of a professional man, there was nothing to show danger or unfitness for occupation, the opening of the Theatre for the
