GENERAL NEWS.
An Arsenal for Korea.
The Japanese Government has decided to establish an arsenal | in Kores, which is to be cân. plated in six years at a coat of about Yen 4,200,000, commencing with the next fiscal year. The : plan hen already been passed on on by the authorities of the Finance Department. The DOT arsenal will be a branch factory of the Oaska arsenal, and will be devoted mainly to the manu facture of artillery parts.
China Const Skipper's Death.' News was received on Septem ber 18 of the death of Oaptsin Pearse of Srslow. Deceased, who came to Chins about twenty- fire years ago, after a short service on the coast joined the pilot association at Swatow.
Recently Captain Pearse with his wife and family decided on s tong holiday in North China and Japan; the former part of the programme was carried out before the Chikago Maru reached Nagasaki. Captain Pesrne died oft deart disease.
