Germans' Patents to be Used. London, August 18.—Ammonis is to be manufactured from bydro- gen and nitrogen by the synthetic process in England. In the Patents Court le-day the Gas Development Company, Ltd., of Charler-street, Walsall, was.grant- nd permission to use three German patents for the purpose. Mr. Gerald Dodson said the applicants had experimented for fifteen months, and had now decided that they could manufacture smmonia sulphate at profit. Although ammonis had not previously been manufactured in England by this process, the Germans bad ́established: S business with capital of £2,000,000, and had increased their output to 500,000 tɔns “k year. The fact that it could be manufactured in England infargo quantities would have the effect of reducing the price of "high- explosives, and also fertilisere.
