Egypt's New Coinage. The Egyption Government har decided to issue new coinage, and has just approved. the de- signe. The coins will have on the front the monogram of Sultan Hussein I. with the Hegira dale of his accession underneath, and on the revere the designation "Egyptian Sultanate," with the date of the year in which the coins are struck and the value un- derneath. The inscription will be in Arabic, with the addition of the miating date and the value in Earopean characters as well. The size and delomination of the coins will be as at present, except that the nickel ones will have a hole in the centre. Hitherto no Earopean inscription has appear- ed, nor has there ever been any mention of the name of the ruler of the country on Egyptian coins, which have always borne the monogram of the reigning Sultan of Turkey in accordance with » regulation of the .firman of in- vestiture.
The Late Admiral Kamimura. Writing on the death of Ad- miral Kamimura, a writer in the Westminster Gasette says:-"No Japanese who was not a diplomat was better known in England, or had a larger circle of friends among us then Kamimara ; and his success in helping the Jap- anese Navy to win its spurs waE regarded here as nothing more than his due, for he had done much towards the building up of the fiset.
