With reference to the restriction of navigation in Indian waters, as reported previously, telegrams received at the Osaka Shosen Kaisha from its Bombay Agency state that vessels intending to make Indian ports must neces- earily be provided with the Load

ine Certificate, otherwise they will have to take out the per- •* mission of the Indian Gover ment. Japanese tramp steamers now under charter of the Osaka Shosen Kaisha are the Shimpo Maru. Shinkoku Maru, Inaho Maru, Itsukushima Meru, Tozan Maru, and Europs Maru, No. 2 (all are of Lloyd's Al class, the first-mentioned two being regis- tered at Dairen), and Kunajiri Maru, Toyotomi Maru. Doyo Maru, Urayasu Maru and Ryoto Maru (none of which are yat qualified by Lloyd's the last.
