After one hour and a half of fruitless exertions to obtain it, it was decided to embark again, and proceed to the strips of beach eastward of the Chinese Territory, and having found suitable for the purpose they landed there. And verifying all the conditions given they proceeded to fight. At the signal given Señor Checa advanced and when finding himself midway of the distance which separated him from his adversary, Señor Porre Bueno, the latter fired without hitting Señor Checa, who without stopping continued advancing till he fired in his turn when quite close to Señor Porre Bueno, hitting him. This Gentleman, not having fallen when wounded could have continued the duel, but immediately commencing to faint he fell into the arms of the Witness and lost consciousness. The Doctor proceeded to treat him.
