Sir,
I am directed by the Earl of Kimberley to forward to you for the consideration of Earl Granville, copies of two despatches from the Governor of Hong Kong, respecting a recent duel which has occurred in the neighbourhood of that Colony between Don Leon Checa, Spanish Consul at Hongkong, & Señor F. Torre Bueno, late Peruvian Consul at Macao; and at which Mr. Charles de Mont Forest, Acting French Consul, is alleged to have been present.

...the Acting French Consul, is (in a despatch) said Don Leon Checa has made a complaint.
I am to request that you will inform me what action should be taken with regard to the future official position & conduct of Don Leon Checa & Mr. de la Forest.
