My attention having been drawn to an instance where in ignorance of Captain of the one of the Mepageries Cases of Maritimes Steamers - petroleum had been shipped here as blocks, and consigned to Saigon, I directed the Attorney General to lose no time in preparing a Bill to meet a similar contingency.
And on consideration it was deemed expedient to extend to this Colony the provisions of "the Merchant Shipping Act 1854" Section 52.9.
