London, Jan. 18-The Bank rate remains núchanged at 5 per b. cent. The Open market rate for s short loans is 4 per cent, and
b. discount of four months' Bank bills 5 to 53 per cent. The tose of the Silver market has been good, and bars are quoted at 2843. per oz. The Rebber Share Market has experienced some re- action, sexisted by profit taking, but on the whole prices bave only [b. receded to a slight degree, and the tone is steadier at the close. On the Stock Exchange Indo-b. Chins deferred on 14th inst rose to 183. but reacted on 15th inst, to 181. The China Tea market has been firmer, and a fair amount of business has been transacted. In Coffee there is a fair business passing at steady prices. There has been a good demand for Sagar at fall rates. Peppera are quiet, but firm. Bica continues to be Mirmly held. Manila Hemp has raled strong and prices have fur- ther advanced. Plantation Rub- ber has shown some irregularity, and prices have declined, Stand and No. 1 Crepe being now 3. 714. per lb., and Smoked Sheet 34. 6d. per lb. Fine Hard Para is 34, d. per lb.
