I have had under my consideration the Estimates and Ordinance (No. 6 of 1872) authorising the appropriation of a supplementary sum of $99,000 for the service of the year 1872, which were forwarded in your despatch No. of the 31st of July.
From these papers it appears that the Expenditure of the year exceeded the original estimate by more than $55,000, & the Revenue of the year by nearly $57,000, the difference being drawn from the balances in the Colony.
