Ranter's correspondent at Amsterdam reports that the Russian Philippine Is.--Per TEAN, 7th Dec. 3p.m offensive in the Baltic provinces is admitted in a Berlin communique.

A GERMAN CLAIM,

November 27, 12.35 ..

The German claim of the capture of Berasmuende, a few miles south of Riga, is not confirmed by a Russian communique, which asys that the fighting there all day yesterday ended indecisively. Everything is quiet elsawhere on the whole front, except weit. of the town of Olyka, between Bovno and Lutzk, where, the com- munique says, the attempts of the enemy to advance on two points nearly ended in disaster to him, the Russian enveloping movements forcing him to retire precipitately to the alarting point.
