Parlett) writes that there are three natural gateways into South Manchuria-Antang, Dairen, and Newchwangerch a seaport and each on the South Mancko ria Railway, which is tho meet im- portant channel of communication in those regions. From various causes Antung has never, until recently, becnaterions competitor in the Macchurian carrying trade. Soch rivalry as rxisted has been Lands, Hotels and Bulldings.
