Miscellaneous.
Very listle business was done in this market, and no change beyond a slight appreciation in Constructione is apparent.
Indian Cotton Milla.
The directors of the Connaught, Empress Imperial, and James Greaves' spinning mills, of which the Greaves Cotton and Company are the agents, have. called meet. inge of aboreholders to consider the desirability of voluntary liquida tion, "as the mills cannot, by ren. son of their liabilities, continue their business." The wills employ about 10,000 men, the aggre gate number of spindles being about 250,000. The Greaves Cot- ton and Company were the early pioneers of the cotton-mill industry here. The mills had serious losses through labour troubles in 1913, and the war converted a promising outlook into the present situation. Merchants are unable to ship or to take delivery of purchates, while the prosperity of the mille depended on the yarn exports to Chins, where, besides the war, the market has been unsatisfactory.—* Manchester Guardian,
