There is something in the political atmosphere of Britain which appears to blight the growth of such a hybrid, and it will come as no great earprise to students of history if the pre- sent Cabinet is comparatively short lived. But how the coua- try will view the prospect of a general election is another matter. The Bitch public of today is not the British publio of a year ago. Life for it bas taken on a more serious complexion.
