An extraordinary record of a -Leigh musical family has been established by the impletion of 50 years' bervice an organiet of James Boydell, cf Pennington Church, Leigh. His blind grand- father, Joseph Kerfoot, was or. ganist at Leigh Parish Church for 64 years, and during 53 consecutive yeɑra never missed service. He died in 1880. Hie great uncle Thomas was en oʻga- nist for over 50 years, and his uncle, Joseph Kerfoot, was organ- ist at Winwick Church 63 years.
