Messrs Wright and Hornby in their weekly share report state:--
There is no change to report in the local conditions of our market; there is still a good demand for shares for investment account, whilst the epeanlaive descriptions are on the easy side, due in many instances to settlement influences,
Bar Silver is quoted at 23 1/16 per oz. for ready.
Exchange on London opened to-day at 1/8 5/16 T.T.
Banka Hongkong and Shanghai Banks bave advanced from $830 to $850 sales and sellers.
Marine Insurances. Unions have further improved from $930 to $950 buyers, and Cantone are in demand at $378. From the North, Yangtezes are quoted at $240 buyers ex, 73, and North Chinas at-Tls. 160.
Fire Insurancee, China Fires have buyers at $158 and Hongkong Fires of $400,

Shipping: Indo-Chinas have changed hande at various ratos from 8151 to $153 cash for the combined shares closing with small sellers as $165. A large business had been transacted in the preferred shares at 857 and in the combined shares for December delivery at $161%, 8102 and $162. Star Ferries are a firm market with buyers offering $30 and Hongkong Canton and Macao Steamboats are wanted at the improved rate of $201 Shell Transports have sold at 88/- and Douglas's at various rates from $68) down to 867 closing with probable sellera at the latter figure.
Refineries-China Sagars bave declined from $133 to $1291 sellers owing to settlement influences, but there are buyers at $129 for cash and at $132 for October. Lozous are a dead market with sellers at $44.
Aining Tronobs have sold at 30, 2018 and at 81/closing with further buyers at the latter figure. Kailans are wanted at 30/- and Langkaw at The, 384, Raubs have been taken off the market at $4 and $3.00 at which latter figure there are farther sellers.
