The expense might be partly met by the £800 Sterling counted annually by the Imperial Government for the purposes of the Contagious Diseases Ordinance; and I believe that there is a large balance in favor of this Special Account derived from other sources.

Two tracings are forwarded herewith, one of them marked ▲ being a general plan of the adjacent portion of the city, and which will show its relative position if compared with the large plan of Hong Kong sent here to the Colonial Office last year.
