P Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee of the Guild, advanc ed the suggestion in the Hale of Oummons when Dr. T. J. Macos mara stated in reply that the proposal involved a very consid erable extension of the present Ecope of the soheme for distribu ting War Badges. He promised, however, to take an opportunity of discussing it with the Presi dent of the Board of Trade but beyond that he stated he was afraid he could give no under. taking. Supplementing Captain Pato's Fuggestion the Guild have Low addressed special appeala bath to the Admiralty and to the President of the Board of Trade. From the latter the Guild · have received an acknowledgement to the effect that the matter receiving his attention."

The first steamer to reach Ta tungkow, at the month of the Talu, was the Japanese steamer Harada Maru which arrived there on March 28.
