existing building there have been not less than 87 patients under treatment at one time during this year, and the Colonial Surgeon has been compelled to send smallpox cases to the Seamen's Hospital as there was no room for them in the Civil Hospital, where, under ordinary circumstances, only 2 beds should be arranged. The Quarters for the Resident Surgeon, Apothecary &c. should be in close proximity to the Hospital, though in a separate building, for which space could readily be afforded.
