Activity of Shipbuilding: Great activity is boing shown at the shipbuilding yards in Japan accentuated by the im- possibility of getting shipbuild- ing orders executed in England at present. We read in the "Mainichi" that the Nippon Yasen Kaisha has decided to order from the Japanene yards all the steamers on its shipbuilding pro gramme for this year. All these steamers are to be completed in 16 to 20 months from the date on which the keel is laid. Besides these, the wo yards are each now building two steamers of 7,500 tons and one steamer of 3,000 to 4,000 tons, Doring next year eleven new steamers will be completed at the two yards for the Nippon Yusen Kaisha. The Osaka Shosen Kalaha has in contemplation scheme to build Ave or six steam ers of 4,000 to 5,000 tons.
