The Admiralty states that submarine U20 stopped the Medes, whoes name was painted in large lettera on the side, at 10 o'clook on Thursday morning, off Beachy Head. She ordered the Medea to send a boat with the crew and the ship's napsra alongside. The ship was sank by gunfire, and the sabaiarine refused to return her papare.

His Majesty the King visited Harmich on Thursday and inspected the warships, including one of the later submarines, and a destroyer which participated in the North Sea battles.
The King apent twenty minutes in the destroyer's stokehold talking with the men, some of whom proadly pointed out the marke

March 26, 12.30 p.m. Router's correspondent st Honolulu reports that the United States submarine F 4 submerged yesterday during target practice, bat did not again appear. A search made last night, revealed the submarine had sunk in deep water, All'attempts to raise it failed. It is feared the crew of twenty-five were suffocated.

This morning a successful air attack by five British naval airmen was made oa German submarines which were being con- etracted at Hoboken near Antwerp. The raid was carried out in the most difficult conditions, but two pilots succeeded in dropping bombs and seriously damaging works which were on fire and two submarines.

A Petrograd communique states:We continue to progress west of the middle Niemen.

Paymaster Desclaux Disgraced. :

A Court Martial has sentenced Prinot pal Ardy Paymaster Desclaux to seven years' imprisonment, military degradation and expulsion from the Legion of Honour, for misappropriation of army stores. His mistress was sentenced to two years' imprisonment and a private soldier to one year.
