A fair volume of business has been done during the week under reveiew particularly in China Bogare, Lazons Lados and Green Island Cements. The market oloses steady with a firmer tendency.

Exchange on London opened to-day at 1/95% T.T.
Banks.Hongkong and Shanghai Banks are steady at $800 after sales at the rate.
Marine Insurances. Cantons have sellers at $360. North Chinas are enquired, for at Tla, 175. Unions have been booked st $840 and 8845 closing with further sellere at the letter rats. Yangtazes are unchanged at $235 buyers ex. 73.k
Fire Insurances. There have been sales of China Fires at 8143 and there are further sellers, Hongkong Firea were bookedst 400 cum div, and close with buy ra at $373 ex- the dividend of $27, cum
Shipping. There are buyers of Chisa and Manilas at $5. Douglases have advanced to 231 buyers. Hongkong, Canton and Macao Bleamboats fro steady at $211 Indo-Chinas have been an aotive market, sales being made at various rates from $77 to 880 cash and equivalent rates forward, closing with sellers at 380. Shell Transports at 88/9 are quies, and without business to report. Star Ferries are offering at 838
