Felli, 12th February-A Tren Comuni que, datad Delhi, the 11th, February, 1915, states: The Gor ernment of ludia has received the follo wing particulars in dot- nection with the formation of a company for the manufacture of dyes and chemicals in the United! Kingdom. It is proposed that the company should be formed with a capital of £20,000,000, of which £1,000,000 will be jasued in the firat instance. Two shillings and six-pence will be payable on each share by applicants allotment and the remainder will be called up as required. Di i' enda on sbaree are limited to usx per cent. His Majesty's Govori - went will make a loan to the company of a sum equal to the subscribed capital up to a total of £1,000,000 and thereafter in the proportion of £1 to every £4 of inbicribed capital, Interest will be charged on the loan at 4 per cent.; payable out of the net profit, the term of the loan to be limited to a period of fourteen years. It is proposed that His Majesty's Government should also make a grant for ten years for the encouragement of reeearch work of a sum not exceeding an #ggregate of £100,000. The pearl fishing industry of the Philippine Islands, which heretofore has yielded the Govers - mest about $25,000 annual revenue and furnished employ- ment to about 1,010 men, i8 practically ded, as a result of the Ics of the Europeaa market for shell, due to the war. For a few days the prices remained at about 2zid., and a very fair amount of business was transseted, as there were sel era willing to meet the requiremente of the Continent and Tadis. Since then the cfferings have been very light, and insuficient to meet even the present moderate demand, The quotation in consequence has advanced to 22 15-10d., at which level the morket is quietly steady, bat with no prodorned tendency. A shipment of 150,000 ozs. has been made from San Francisco to Hoogkong.
