The Annual General Mesting of the Mayo Marine Institate, Rangoon, was held last month.'' The Chairman read the report which was

as follows: The Committee wet regularly every quarter during the year to pass the accounts and transact other business. Capt. WH. AllenTM continued as Secretary, during the year. In previous annual reports it has always been custom- nry to calculate the number of men who are accommodated in,. or make use of, the Institute from the daily lists. By this calcula- tion 1,730 officers and 1,886 men, making a total of 3,022, were no commodated in the Institute, as compared with 1,542 officera and 1,219 men, total 2,781 in the previous year. In addition to these 3,108 non-resident.asamed visited the Institute during the year, and availed themselves of the privileges which it offers. In all, therefore, "6,728 men made nee of the Institute during the.. year. Twelve officers of the steamer Ulan Matheson, which was sunk by the German Cruiser who were landed Emden, at this

port, were quartered in the Institute for 13 days prior to their transfer to Cal- outta. Special arrangemente ware made by request to enable mem- bere of the Burma Contingent arriving from upcountry to stay in the Institute pending their transport, and four members availed themselves of this pri
